Honestly I was about to shake hands on a 2017 Q7 from a small dealer in Al Quoz last week, everything looked clean, interior was mint, and the test drive felt fine. But something kept nagging at me because I remember reading about timing chain issues and oil consumption problems on these 3.0T engines, especially when they haven’t been maintained properly. I decided to pay for a proper inspection instead of crossing my fingers, and man am I glad I did. They offered a certified Audi car inspection Dubai that took a couple of hours and included a full computer diagnostic, bore scope check, and underbody examination. Turned out the car had a minor coolant leak from the water pump housing which the seller claimed wasn’t a big deal, but the inspector also found overboost codes and some suspicious welding near the rear subframe that suggested a poorly repaired crash. I walked away from the deal and lost my deposit but probably saved myself twenty grand in future headaches. Just wanted to share because it’s easy to get excited about a shiny Audi and skip the boring stuff. Trust me, don’t skip it.
