I recently installed a Power Sonic PHR-12200-M6-FR rechargeable sealed lead-acid battery in my fire alarm system, but it doesn’t seem to be functioning properly. What troubleshooting steps should I take?

First, ensure that the battery is connected properly and securely. Check the terminals for any signs of corrosion or loose connections. If everything looks fine, verify that the battery is fully charged. You can use a multimeter to measure the voltage across the terminals. A fully charged battery should read around 13 volts. If the voltage is significantly lower, try charging the battery using an appropriate charger.

If the battery still doesn’t seem to be holding a charge or providing power to the system, it may be defective. Contact the manufacturer or your supplier for a replacement. Additionally, check the surrounding environment for any factors that could be affecting the battery’s performance, such as extreme temperatures or excessive humidity.
