I recently installed a Kidde GCWA-VMC in my building’s fire alarm system. However, it doesn’t seem to be functioning properly. Can anyone provide troubleshooting tips?

Sure, here are a few troubleshooting steps you can take:

Check Power Supply: Ensure that the strobe is receiving power from the fire alarm panel or power supply. Verify that the wiring is properly connected and there are no loose connections.

Candela Setting: Confirm that the candela setting is appropriate for your environment. The Kidde GCWA-VMC has selectable candela settings, so make sure it is set to the correct intensity for your needs.

Compatibility: Double-check the compatibility of the strobe with your fire alarm system. Ensure that it is compatible with the panel and that all necessary settings are configured correctly.

Testing: Perform a manual test of the strobe by activating the fire alarm system. If the strobe does not activate, there may be an issue with the wiring or the strobe itself.

Visual Inspection: Conduct a visual inspection of the strobe to ensure there are no physical damages or obstructions that could be affecting its functionality.

If you’ve gone through these steps and the issue persists, it may be necessary to contact Kidde technical support or consult with a licensed fire alarm technician for further assistance.
