I recently installed a Kidde-Fenwal KS-PS Intelligent Photoelectric Smoke Detector head, and it seems to be having some issues. The device is not responding to smoke as expected. What steps can I take to troubleshoot this?

    Hey there,

If your Kidde-Fenwal KS-PS Intelligent Photoelectric Smoke Detector isn’t responding to smoke, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

Check Power Supply: Ensure that the power supply to the detector is intact and providing the correct voltage. Sometimes, a low battery or faulty power connection can cause malfunctions.

Clean the Detector: Dust or debris accumulation over time can interfere with the detector’s functionality. Use a soft brush or compressed air to gently clean the detector’s chamber and vents.

Test Mode: Put the detector into test mode and use a canned smoke detector tester to see if it responds appropriately. This helps verify if the detector is functioning correctly.

Check Interconnections: If the detector is part of a networked system, verify that all interconnections are secure and properly configured.

Replace if Necessary: If none of the above steps resolve the issue, it’s possible that the detector itself is faulty and may need to be replaced. Contact Kidde-Fenwal support or your supplier for further assistance or a replacement.

Give these steps a try and let us know if you need further assistance!
