I recently installed an Edwards EST G1F-C (Chime, White, “FIRE” Marking, Selectable high/low dB) fire alarm device in my building, but it doesn’t seem to be functioning properly. The chime isn’t sounding when tested, and I’m concerned about its reliability in the event of an actual fire. What troubleshooting steps can I take to address this issue?

    Hi there,

If your Edwards EST G1F-C isn’t chiming during testing, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

Check Power Supply: Ensure that the device is receiving power. Verify the power source and make sure there are no issues with the wiring.

Check Wiring Connections: Inspect the wiring connections to ensure they are secure and properly connected. Loose or damaged wires could prevent the device from functioning correctly.

Test Button: Press the test button on the device to manually trigger the alarm. If the chime still doesn’t sound, it could indicate a malfunction with the internal components.

Reset the Device: Try resetting the device by power cycling it. Turn off the power supply for a few minutes, then turn it back on and test the device again.

Check for Faulty Components: If none of the above steps resolve the issue, there may be a faulty component within the device itself. In this case, it’s best to contact the manufacturer or a certified technician for further assistance.

By following these troubleshooting steps, you should be able to identify and address the issue with your Edwards EST G1F-C fire alarm device. If you need any further assistance, feel free to reach out.
