Hi everyone, I’m in the process of replacing a Siemens DI-3 conventional photoelectric smoke detector with an OP121 model. Has anyone here gone through this replacement before? Any tips or things to watch out for?

Hey there! Replacing the Siemens DI-3 with the OP121 is a fairly straightforward process. First, make sure to power down the system before starting any work. Then, remove the DI-3 from its mounting base and disconnect any wiring. The OP121 should fit onto the same mounting base, but double-check the compatibility just to be sure. Connect the wiring to the OP121, ensuring proper polarity, and securely mount it onto the base. Once everything’s in place, power up the system and test the new detector to ensure it’s functioning correctly. If you have any specific questions or run into any issues during the replacement, feel free to ask for further assistance!
