Begin by turning off the power to the circuit where you’ll be installing the smoke alarm.
Remove the existing smoke alarm, if applicable, and disconnect the wires from the old unit.
Connect the interconnect wire from the Kidde P4010ACS to the interconnect wire in the electrical box.
Mount the mounting bracket provided with the smoke alarm onto the electrical box, ensuring it’s securely fastened.
Connect the hot (black), neutral (white), and interconnect (orange) wires from the smoke alarm to the corresponding wires in the electrical box.
