I’m having trouble with my Potter OSYSU-2 outside screw & yoke supervisory switch. The switch seems to be malfunctioning, and I’m not sure how to troubleshoot it. Any advice on what could be causing the issue and how to fix it?

Certainly! When dealing with issues with the Potter OSYSU-2 supervisory switch, there are a few common problems and troubleshooting steps you can take:

Check for Wiring Faults: Ensure that all wiring connections are secure and intact. Sometimes loose connections or damaged wires can cause malfunctioning.

Inspect for Mechanical Issues: The outside screw and yoke mechanism should move freely without any obstruction. Check for any physical damage or misalignment in the mechanism.

Verify Power Supply: Confirm that the power supply to the supervisory switch is adequate and stable. Fluctuations or insufficient power can cause erratic behavior.

Test the Switch Functionality: Use a multimeter to test the continuity of the switch contacts. If the switch is not making proper contact when activated, it might need replacement.

Review System Programming: Ensure that the supervisory switch is correctly programmed within the fire alarm system. Incorrect programming settings can lead to functionality issues.

By following these steps, you should be able to identify the root cause of the problem with your Potter OSYSU-2 supervisory switch and take appropriate action to resolve it. If you require further assistance, feel free to reach out for additional support.
