Hey folks! I’m considering installing a Wheelock HSR (Exceder Horn-Strobe, Red, Wall-Mount, “FIRE” Lettering) in my building. Can anyone provide insights on the installation process?

Great choice with the Wheelock HSR! Sure thing! Installing the Wheelock HSR is pretty straightforward. First, ensure you have the appropriate tools on hand: a drill, screws, and a screwdriver. Start by selecting a suitable location on the wall, ensuring it complies with local fire safety regulations and provides optimal coverage for alerting occupants. Use a level to ensure the device is mounted straight.

Next, mark the spots for drilling pilot holes according to the mounting template provided with the device. Once the pilot holes are drilled, securely attach the backplate of the HSR to the wall using screws. Make sure it’s tightly fastened to prevent any vibration or movement.

After the backplate is securely in place, connect the wiring according to the manufacturer’s instructions. This typically involves connecting the wires from the building’s fire alarm system to the corresponding terminals on the device. Double-check all connections to ensure they are secure and properly insulated.

Finally, attach the front cover of the HSR, ensuring it clicks into place securely. Test the device to confirm it activates properly when triggered. If everything checks out, your Wheelock HSR installation is complete and ready to provide reliable fire alerting for your building!
